Thallus brownish to olive-green, lacking pseudocyphellae, corticate. Ascomata solitary, subglobose, erumpent from the substratum, mainly or partly covered by the thallus, c.
0.7–1.7 mm diam. Ascomatal wall with crystals, to 300 μm thick; ostiole apical, pale to black. Hamathecium not inspersed with oil droplets, IKI+ orange. Ascospores 2 per ascus, densely muriform, fusiform, with rounded ends, grey to brown, 80–140 × 30–40 μm; lumina rounded. CHEMISTRY: No substances detected. |

Widespread in moist areas of eastern Qld and N.S.W.; also on Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island. Mainly Palaeotropical (but as far north as Japan), usually in lowland forest. | ||
