  Thallus pale olive-green, thin, subtuberculate, smooth, dull. Ascomata inconspicuous, black, thin, immersed, sinuous, branched (sometimes intricately), 1–6 mm long, c. 0.1 mm wide, with a conspicuous thalline margin; lips closed or becoming very slightly open at maturity. Proper exciple completely carbonised. Hymenium 70–100 µm thick, not inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, biseriate, transversely 6–8-locular, 20–25 (–31) × 6–7 µm, I+ blue.
CHEMISTRY: No lichen compounds detected.
     
  Corticolous in Qld, N.S.W., Vic. and Tas.; also in Costa Rica and Angola.
