| Thallus crustose-leprose, bright yellow to yellow-green or yellow-orange, unstratified, adnate, diffuse or rarely delimited, forming small irregularly roundish colonies 5–10 mm wide which eventually coalesce into extensive irregularly spreading patches to 10 cm wide. Soredia fine, with individual granules minutely convex to spherical and 20–80 μm wide. Medulla not apparent. Photobiont cells ±globose, 15–18 μm wide, solitary or in clusters. Apothecia not seen. CHEMISTRY: Thallus K+ pale orange, C–, KC–, P+ pale orange, UV+ dull orange; containing leprapinic acid (major), calycin (minor), vulpinic acid (minor or trace), pulvinic dilactone (minor or trace). |

| Common in W.A., but less so in Qld and N.S.W.; grows on sheltered rock ledges and on bark and dead wood. Also on Norfolk Island and in Nepal. | ||
