Thallus greyish green, thin, smooth, dull. Ascomata white, straight or curved, simple, rarely branched, 1–4 mm long, 0.25–0.30 mm wide, with a conspicuous powdery thalline margin. Proper exciple completely carbonised, hidden by the thalline margin. Hymenium 100–120 µm thick. Ascospores 8 per ascus, narrowly ellipsoidal, transversely septate to submuriform, 6–8 × 1–2-locular, 19–23 × 7–8 µm, I+ pale blue. CHEMISTRY: Salazinic acid (major), consalazinic acid (trace), norstictic acid (trace), protocetraric acid (trace). |
