Thallus ±foliose, centrally squamulose, ±orbicular, ±loosely attached, 2–3 cm wide, pale grey-blue. Lobes to 0.3 cm wide, adjacent, deeply and repeatedly incised; segments ±parallel, often with secondary squamules centrally, apically distinctly flabellate; apices rounded with ±granular margins. Lower surface corticate, without well-developed rhizohyphae, pale to buff. Apothecia moderately common, to 1 mm wide; disc concave becoming flat with age, reddish brown to blackish with prominent paler proper exciple; thalline exciple variously developed, a crown-like structure of secondary lobules arising from base of apothecia; hymenium I+ blue. Ascospores simple, ellipsoidal, 10–15 × 5–8 µm, hyaline. | ||
Occurs on rocks, very rare, restricted to a small area in south-western W.A., and probably endemic in that region. | ||
