Pod hairiness

The presence/absence of hairs on the external surface of the pod. In some taxa, dense hairs may be present over a restricted area of the pod (e.g. in some Pulteneae and Hovea spp., hairs are restricted to the apex of the pod), which are treated as being hairy. This character is best applied to ripe, or recently dehisced pods, as pods (which may be retained on the plant for some time) may become hairless with age.
