Born on 9 May 1885, Cudgen NSW; died: 24 Aug 1975 in Perth WA, aged 90.
Norman Hall,(1978) suggests that the "Julius, A." who collected the type of Eucalyptus leptocarpa Blakely (1934) (hybrid) may be related to "Edward Julius, who was born on 10 January 1868 and was a Forest Guard and later an Assistant Forester of the Forestry Commission of New South Wales."
We now know that Anne Jeannette Julius is his sister, born 17 years later, and one of 13 children born to William Warner Julius of Cudgen, NSW, and Sarah Jane Julius.
It is most likely that Anne lived with her older brother, and her map of collecting has a similar range to his early collecting as a forester. His first appointment was in 1908 and he was stationed at Warialda, near where the type of Eucalyptus leptocarpa was collected.
Anne moved to Perth, WA, some time after that collection date.
Anne Julius was the cook at the Plague Hospital, Perth in 1900.
Anne was assistant cook at a Freemantle hospital in 1903 - 1904.
In the 1910 Electoral Roll 'Canning Freemantle' Anne is listed as a spinster of Armagh St, Victoria Park, WA.
Anne married George HATTON on 15 Jan 1914 in Beaconsfield WA.
Anne died on 24 Aug 1975 in Parkside Lodge, Sth Perth, WA, aged 90.
(her husband, George HATTON also died on 24 Aug 1975, Parkside Lodge, aged 95)
