Ceratopetalum gummiferum 'Johanna's Christmas'
This cultivar is a dwarf form of Ceratopetalum gummiferum. It is a small, dense shrub ca. 1m tall x 1m wide. The white flowers appear between October and January and as they die off, the calyx of each flower turns red.
DIAGNOSIS: As for C. gummiferum except for its dwarf habit (1m x 1m).
Correa glabra var. glabra 'Inglewood Gold'
This cultivar grows to 1m tall by 1m wide. The flower colour
is gold and the flowering season is from December to April. The flowers are
30mm long by 7mm wide.
Diagnosis:
The distinguishing feature of this cultivar is the gold colour
of the flowers.
Chamelaucium uncinatum 'Bundara Mystic Pearl'
The habit of this cultivar is similar to normal Chamelaucium
uncinatum. The flowers are a pink mauve on opening fading to a very pale
pink.
Diagnosis:
A very robust shrub with a large number of the flowers borne on
the branch terminals. This cultivar was bred with the cut flower market in
mind and the first crop attained a 4.5kg cutting. This crop rate was
achieved at Bundara Nursery. The cultivar may be distinguished from other
similar colour forms of C. uncinatum by the heavier crop of flowers.
Grevillea 'Poorinda Enchantment'
It is a tall and open shrub growing to a height of about 4m by
2-3m wide. The leaves are very deeply lobed and about 90mm long by about
45mm across the lobes. Individual lobes are pointed and narrow being 2-3mm
wide. The upper leaf surface is shiny dark green while the underside is
covered in short silky hairs. The leaf edges are rolled under. The flowers
are of the "toothbrush" type and are produced terminally on short branches
and occasionally on the main stem opposite a leaf. The perianth is pale
pink to purple and about 8mm long while the mauve styles are up to 25mm
long.
Diagnosis:
This cultivar differs from its stated parent in its very much
finer foliage and colour of styles. The number of lobes per leaf differs
from about 22 for Grevillea 'Poorinda Enchantment', compared with about 14
lobes per leaf for Grevillea 'Poorinda Blondie'. The lobes are about half
the width of those of Grevillea 'Poorinda Blondie'. Grevillea 'Poorinda
Enchantment' has the same coloured perianths as Grevillea 'Poorinda
Blondie' however the colour of the styles is significantly different.
Grevillea 'Poorinda Enchantment' has mauve (which colour codes to a
red-purple group) styles compared with rich yellow styles for Grevillea
'Poorinda Blondie'.
Grevillea 'Coconut Ice'
The cultivar grows to ca. 2m tall x 1-2m across. The plant has bright green foliage and is of medium density. The new growth is covered with fine red hairs. The flowers are in terminal racemes ca.15cm long by
9cm diameter and are also covered with red hairs. Individual flowers are red/pink with dark red styles and flowers are found all year round in warmer climates. The plant is said to not set seed.
Diagnosis:
Grevillea 'Coconut Ice' is the same cross as Grevillea 'Robyn Gordon' and Grevillea 'Mason's Hybrid' (otherwise known as Grevillea 'Ned Kelly'). It differs in the following ways:
Grevillea ‘Robyn Gordon’ soft leaves, style slightly hooked, red flowers
Grevillea 'Mason's Hybrid' stiff, upright, greyish leaves, apricot flowers
Grevillea .'Coconut Ice' soft, greenish leaves, style hooked, red/pink flowers
Grevillea 'Bon Accord'
Note:
Formerly Grevillea 'Austraflora Bon Accord'
This cultivar is an upright shrub to 2m wide and is of medium
density. The shrub has a rigid appearance but the leaves are not sharply
pointed. The leaves are pinnatisect and up to 10cm long by about 7-8cm
wide. The new growth is a bronzy colour. The flowers are crimson from 30 to
35mm long and held in upright bunches. The buds develop in July and August
and the flowering occurs from about October to February.
Diagnosis:
Grevillea 'Bon Accord' is an intermediate between the two
parents in the following ways:
the cultivar is about 2m tall, G. wilsonii
1.5m tall and G. johnsonii 2-4m tall; leaves pinnatisect as in G. johnsonii
, longer than G. wilsonii but shorter than G. johnsonii, and less sharply
pointed than in G. wilsonii but more so than G. johnsonii. The leaves are
divided into smaller and more numerous segments than G. johnsonii. These
general morphological characteristics can be readily seen in plants of
Grevillea 'Bon Accord'.
Anigozanthos 'Bush Emerald'
DESCRIPTION: This cultivar grows 60-85 cm tall (flower spike) by up to 30
cms across. The leaves are from 25-30 cm long and have a slight glaucous
appearance. The leaf margins have scattered white plumose hairs. The
flowers are bright green on the perianth and bright red on the ovary caused
by brightly coloured plumose hairs. The colours fade as the flower ages.
Red and white plumose hairs continue on the pedicel and the main stem,
gradually diminishing below the bottom flower until becoming fairly
scattered. The flowers are tubular and up to 7 cm long in a terminal raceme
on an unbranched inflorescence. The flowering season is late winter and
spring.
The flower colour of the cultivar strongly resembles that of A. manglesii.
